What We Do

The DMS Golden Eagle Players Theatre Department is constantly growing and adding new and exciting opportunities. Here are a few annual festivities to expect from us:

Fall Play: October 2020*

2 Act straight play (non musical typically a drama)

*Currently under review due to COVID19

8th Grade Winter Musical review:

Early December2020*

A musical review full of your favorite hits from Broadway presented by the 8th grade Musical Theatre class, as part of their first semester class work.

*Currently under review due to COVID19

Spring Musical: Early May 2021*

Our second full-scale musical, and last production of the year. In keeping with the DMS tradition, this show is open to theatre students at all grade levels to audition. Sometimes we might elect a non-musical or a night of One Acts in place of a musical.

*Under review due to COVID19

DMS Theatre History

In 2014, Davis Middle School introduced the Academy for Performing and Visual Arts as part of RCPS School Choice Program. Since it's opening in 2006, Theatre has been a part of DMS as an extracurricular, performing an annual Spring Musical, Winter Musical Review, and Fall 2 Act drama. With the formation of the Academy and the DMS Golden Eagle Players, Mr. Young continues to carry the torch, as set by Mrs. Jackson, expanding Theatre as an extracurricular experience as well as in a classroom setting.
